Primary Program Sunday!!

Today is/was my FaVoRiTe Sunday
of the whole entire year.
Today was the Primary Program.
The kids were amazing.
Today I wish church was 4 hours instead of 3 and that I could listen to the kids for that whole extra hour. I love them.

And of course I spent a couple of hours with the new loves of my life.
*MY NURSERY KIDS*
Mike better watch out cause I am in LOVE!
I mean really in love.
11 boys and 1 sweet little girl.
I get to hold and feed and read to and snuggle with. They totally crack me up.

Like today one of them kept on saying,
"I have a penis, wanna see my penis?"
UMMM....NOPE! NO! I don't and don't show anyone else, thank you.

But really they are sweet and fun and I am lucky to get to spend time with them.

The other really great thing about being in the nursery is that I get to hang out with Sherri. And today we got an extra bonus and Staci came in with us.
It was once again the CoRi dAwN, Staci, and Sherri show.
It was fun.

Dear Sherri and Staci,
I love you. I miss spending time with you.
I'm glad we were all together again today. You guys were the best counselors anyone could ever want. What I miss the very most about being in Relief Society is you. I count you as some of my best friends.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

Yeah, I'm chillin on a dirt rode.....

So I'm spending today trying to figure out how to deal with all of the changes in my life.
Not gonna lie....I'm struggling.
Mike and I went and took pictures of Bryant and his homecoming date which was fun.
They were super cute.

On the way home my sweet Mike could see a needed a little something special so
we took the long cut home.
We took the dirt rode.
It was wonderful!
My hands out the sunroof
or on my camera.

Dear Dirt Rode,
I so enjoyed my time chillin with you tonight. I love hearing the gravel up under the car. I feel better. Thanks.
Love,

This post is not for all readers!

C-Diff
Also known as "CODE BROWN" in the wide world of nursing.
I have been at work for the past three nights in a row and have had my fair share of patients with the dreaded C-Diff.
And the dreaded "Code Browns"
And I want all ya'll to know that it is not good.
Not good for the patient
Not good for me.
And not good for my shoes.

I mean I really do feel horrible for the patients, nobody wants to poop every hour (or three times an hour), then have several strangers come in in gowns and gloves with 3 or 4 packages or wipes and wipe tail. But this is just what the C-Diff does.
It causes people to poop.
I don't just mean poop, I mean explosive diarrhea.

Not unlike Dumb and Dumber poop.

Anyway when a patient has the dreaded C-Diff I have to wear PPE which is pretty much a huge drag.
It gets super hot and it's not comfy.
But it does help keep me clean. And that is good.

Dear Reader of my Blog,
Don't judge me for my poopy post.
This is just a part of my life as a nurse. I don't love the C-Diff part of nursing, not even a little bit. But in general I love my patients and will continue to wipe tail for them.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

For your information:
Clostridium difficile (pronunciation below) (from the Greek kloster (κλωστήρ), spindle, and Latin difficile,[1] difficult), also known as "CDF/cdf", or "C. diff", is a species of Gram-positive bacteria of the genus Clostridium that causes severe diarrhea and other intestinal disease when competing bacteriain the gut flora have been wiped out by antibiotics.
Clostridia are anaerobic, spore-forming rods (bacilli).[2] C. difficile is the most serious cause of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (AAD) and can lead to pseudomembranous colitis, a severe infection of the colon, often resulting from eradication of the normal gut flora by antibiotics.[3]
In a very small percentage of the adult population, C. difficile bacteria naturally reside in the gut. Other people accidentally ingest spores of the bacteria while they are patients in a hospital, nursing home, or similar facility. When the bacteria are in a colon in which the normal gut flora has been destroyed (usually after a broad-spectrum antibiotic such as clindamycin has been used), the gut becomes overrun with C. difficile. This overpopulation is harmful because the bacteria release toxins that can cause bloating and diarrhea, with abdominal pain, which may become severe. C. difficile infections are the most common cause of pseudomembranous colitis, and in rare cases this can progress to toxic megacolon, which can be life-threatening.
Latent symptoms of C. difficile infection often mimic some flu-like symptoms and can mimic disease flare in patients with inflammatory bowel disease-associated colitis.[4] Mild cases of C. difficile infection can often be cured by discontinuing the antibiotics responsible.[2] In more serious cases, oral administration of, first, metronidazole and - if that fails - then, second, vancomycin are currently the treatments of choice. Relapses of C. difficile AAD have been reported in up to 20% of cases.[2]

I forgot.

I forgot yesterday was my big brother
Shayne's BiRtHdAy.
Sorry bro.

Shayne is just a couple of years older than I am and he offered more adventures growing up than I should of had. He's got super cute family and they all live in Virginia, except for my niece Christina who is on a mission for our church in Nebraska. I wish that I could spend more time with them.
I laugh every time I am with him.
And my kids love him.
He was totally acting silly in this picture, trying to hide his neck. Weird. But it's one of those things that make me laugh.
Dear Brother Shayne,
Dude, sorry I  missed yo birthday.
I'm a loser.
But I hope it was really an amazing day. I hope you didn't have to work and that you got to play with your boys. I hope Christen made you a great dinner and after dinner you got to go fishing.
I love you tons and miss you lots.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

I bet you're wondering why....

I missed my Sunday blog.
I knew you were, I'm pretty sure everyone is!

Anyhoo...I got a new phone and well it's amazing.
I love it.
It's 3D!
Seriously. Crazy.

So what in the world does my new phone have to do with me missing my Sunday blog?
I'll tell you.

Hi, my name is CoRi dAwN and I'm an addict.

I am addicted to...

drum roll please......

And so while I could have been blogging,
I was busy playing
Angry Birds.
I know, I'm sick and possibly wrong also.
But I can't help it,
I do so love killing those mean
little green pigs.
Sorry.

Dear new phone,
I am in love with you.
However we are going to have to set some limits with our relationship.
But seriously, you can do the most amazing things and I'm super impressed.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

Oh the memories.....

So yesterday I was just minding my own business driving to work and Boondocks by Little Big Town came on the radio.
It made me smile.
First I love this song because... well, my heart and soul do in fact belong to the boondocks.
I don't really care which boondocks; the Virginia boondocks, the Idaho boondocks, or right here in my own little Colorado boondocks.
Tin roofs and gravel roads, life doesn't get better than that. SERIOUSLY.
I simply heart the boondocks.
Back to why I was smiling...
my kids all five of them (together) use to sing that song as loud as they could while I drove them around in the mini-van to various activites. They all loved it. I cannot help but to love what my kids love.
*Again, don't forget to click pause on my playlist below*

Dear kids of mine,
Keep singing together, you sound way better than the Osmonds!
Today I wish we were all together driving to the boondocks and singing boondocks and that school and work were far far away from us.
Love,
CoRi dAwN
