I love Sundays!

I love Sundays and I need them! What a great day today was. President Maynes of the Denver South Mission joined our Ward Council and he was amazing. He was a kind gentle man who spoke with tenderness and encouragement. I have always felt a bit of anxiety when thinking about sending one of kids off for two years but after today I feel excited to have my children in the care of someone like President Maynes, I'm sure they will grow and learn.

I also love Relief Society! What an amazing group of women live in the RB Ward. I am renewed and strengthen when I am with them.

Latter-day Saint women must be strong and immovable in relief. We are a Relief Society, and we should be the best women in the world at providing relief. This has been our special province from the beginning. The word relief means “to lift up, lighten.” It means “a raising [up].” “The notion is ‘to raise (someone) out of trouble.’” Our service and the relief that we offer are a sign that we are the Lord’s disciples and we are members of His true restored Church. It is a privilege to be part of this worldwide organization for women, whose name describes what we are meant to do: provide relief.
~Julie B. Beck

Dear Relief Society of RB,
Thank you for "relieving me".
It has and is a privilege to
serve you and to serve with
you. I am continually amazed
by your love and service to
me and others.
Love,

As Sisters in Zion
1.As sisters in Zion, we’ll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labors we’ll seek.
We’ll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We’ll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.

2.The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity’s name.

3.How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit’s divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.

Happy Birthday Dana.

So my sister is going to....

The Orange County Fireman's Fair today and I am jealous. Mychael-Ann is one of my little sisters and she currently lives in Orange County Virginia. (Check her blog out)

Anyway every year the Orange County Fireman have a parade and fair and it looks like so much fun! And well she is going today. The funny thing is that she is a little hesitant to take her four beautiful children. I mean, I can understand why, most of the people that go are rednecks really interesting. And there always occasionally drunk people who may or may not fight and swear. I talked to her this morning and we laughed as she told me of her plans. (We aren't judging or making fun of all the people who go, just some.)

So last year when I pulled up to my dad's house for our family vacation we passed the fair and it looked like a super fun blast. The really sad thing is that the people who are going today wouldn't go with me last year, one of them said something like, "With all them rednecks, you bound to hear sirens". And I'm pretty sure we did in fact hear some sirens later that night. But I'm still wishing I went and I wish I was going today.

Dear Mychael-Ann and family,
Have a blast at the fair, take lots of pictures,
count the drunk people, win some stuffed
animals, run away from any fighting,
and above all eat some yummy
greasy food for me.
Love,

Girls Night

Having a blast with the girls.
JoAnn, Staci, Katie, and CoRi dAwN

Last Friday night some dear girl friends and I had a girls night out. We went to Brio and had a fabulous dinner. We laughed all the way there and all the way home. We talked about things that we probably shouldn't have...I taught them my secret about how to hide an overactive pit. (It's still a secret ya'll and I'm not tellin.) I of course was a little under dressed, but I like it that way. We found some other crazy ladies and pretty much forced them to take our picture. It was nice of them.

Dear JoAnn, Staci, and Katie,
I had so much fun with you. Thanks
for getting me to go out. Forgive me
for being a bit irreverent.
I love ya'll.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

YAY ME.

And I have a super beautiful Peony plant. Amazing I tell ya.

And here are my Pumpkin and Watermelon plants.
I cannot wait!

And my little tree. It's in the front yard but it's growing
and I'm so happy.

Dear Tree, Bushes, and Baby plants,
Keep on growing. I'll be here cheering you on.
Grow. Grow. Grow.

What I would rather be doing today....instead of sleeping.

I worked last night, and I have to go back tonight. That means I must try to sleep all day. The sun is shining and the temperature is going around 90 degrees! And I am missing Old Virginia. So today I will force myself to dream that I am at my favorite childhood place, water skiing or playing in the sand or watching Jarret and Noah flip off the dock or perhaps I will even dream that I am laughing at my cousin when she gets busted for a bodily function that should NOT take place in a lake.

Dear Blue Ridge Shores,
Thanks for the great memories!
I will cherish them for the rest of my life.
Love,
CoRi dAwN
