Snow days

My little Emilee is SO creative.
She keeps herself entertained even on the
snowiest days.
Earlier this year on one really cold snow day she did a
little fashion designing.

Dear Emilee,
Always create! You are awesome.
And remember, "Modest is Hottest"

72 hours

I just am coming off of working 3 nights in a row.
I don't want to be a whiny pants, but dang 3 in a row kills me.
So in 72 hours I spend...
At least 39 hours in the hospital on the floor.
5 hours in the car to and from work.
4.5 hours cleaning myself up before and after work.
I try to sleep about 6 hours a day so that leaves...
5.5 hours in three days to say "hi" to my kids,
help with the laundry, pluck my brows,
and help Mike meal plan.
So my house get destroyed and my dear husband and
kids feel neglected.

Wanna see how cute I am after 72 hours of hell.

Dear Work,
Could you try not to kill me?

I had a little "play in the dirt therapy" today.

I planted seeds, vegetables, and flowers today!
Planting day is one of most favorite days of the year.
I'm not sure why but I love digging in the dirt.
And my kids love it also. Alyson, Bryant, and I went to the local grocery store and bought some fabulous plants.
(I know the Grocery store seriously not the best place to purchase plants but it worked for me today. So YAY!)
Then I spent several hours all myself planting flowers
in the front planter and pots.
Almost heaven.
And then Jarret came home from school and he was amazing.
He helped me plant the vegetables in the back planter.
And he did a really great job.
But wait it get even better..
After dinner we had Family Home Evening in the back yard..
DIGGING.
We dug a new spot for our Pumpkin and Watermelon seeds.
Oh, am I excited. And so are my kids.

Dear Flowers, Vegetables, and Seeds,
Please bloom where you are planted.

I love Sundays!

I love Sundays!
Which is funny because usually Sunday morning in my house is full of yelling and fighting and not wanting to get ready for church.
But each week we all get ready and we all pile in a car or two and head to church. Once in while the fighting spills over to Sacrament meeting but usually by the time we get there all is well. The real amazing thing that happens is when church is over.
We all pile back into the car(s) and everyone is happy, I mean really happy. I love it! The ride home from church is probably my favorite time of the week. The kids are talking about their lessons and asking questions and telling me what they think and what they hope for. I just simply love it.

Today during sacrament meeting I got an extra special treat. All of my children spent time creating beautiful art.

Dear Alyson, Bryant, Dawson, Emilee, and Jarret,
Please never forget how good it feels to know that you are where you should be. Also know this.. Jesus loves you and so do I.

The teenage boys in my life play dress-up

When asked why the towel, Jack said, "I'm the
Towel-a-ban"

I so enjoy kids! The teenage boys in my life were really on one last night. They were hilarious!

The Gorilla mask that was SO worth the $6.00 I paid for it. It has made me laugh countless times!

Dawson as a Santa, Indian, Genie, Civil War Soldier playing X-box.
Awesome.

Dear Jack, Bryant, and Dawson,
Thanks for reminding me to laugh.
    I needed to be reminded.

A lesson for you Alyson

Dear Alyson,
The lesson is....
If you fall; get back up,
dust yourself off, don't cry,
and keep on riding.
Love, CoRi dAwN

PS. Could please quit growing up so fast and wanting to leave me!? And can you teach your sibling not to grow up and leave their mother also. Thanks.

A new tree. We named it Chuck.

This was the enormous hole my dearest Mike dug for my new tree.
I'm thinking it might have been about 50% too big.
But it's cool.

This was one of many piles of dirt I had in my front yard for about 2 days.

And another pile of dirt to look at for a couple of days.
Oh and that is a FLAT tire you see.

And this is the tree that sat for 2 days waiting to be planted.
It is sideways because by this point the tree and myself wanted to
lay down and forget about the planting.

Well look at that! I have a new tree in my front yard thanks to my dearest husband.

Dear Mike,
Thank You for all of the hard work
you do for me!!
I love you.

Alyson's Graduation

I woke up early yesterday and the first thought I had was, "I cannot believe my baby is graduating!" How fast time flies when you are loving babies.

It was a lovely day, the weather was so nice and it was nice to celebrate with
family and friends.

Alyson got up first and I raced out of bed to see her before she left.
She looked like a girl all grown up. *dang it*
Why she have to grow up so fast?

We then got everyone dressed and ready and then took off to the field. (That part was not fun. The other kids didn't think that the day was so important and the field was really far away.) When we got there we met up with Grandma' Teresa, Aunt Ronni, Aunt Dana and all her kids, and we took Grandma' Dinie with us.

It was a fine graduation. The kids were good although they played the whole time on a turf hill, honestly it looked like fun.

So they were quiet and they had fun. I'm sure other people were judging but I don't really care. They will remember Alyson's graduation with fondness.

The ceremony was great, not too long and no boring speeches.

But Alyson, she was amazing. So happy.

And then it was over. And we all got to congradulate Alyson.

I love this picture of Alyson with Grandma' Teresa and Grandma' Dinie

We couldn't be more humbly proud
Dear Alyson, I adore you!

Work Daughter

So at work I meet a lot of people.
It's my favorite part of my job.
Getting to know people is so much fun.

About a while ago I met a young lady named Arienne.
I LOVE her.
She is amazing.
She is a super nurse, a great example, and
a really nice human.

She's so great and I love her so much that I adopted her, she is now my
Work Daughter.

I had to work on Mother's Day, I wasn't too happy
about it but I do what I have to do.
So when I got to work I found the nicest surprise ever.

I am so grateful for nice people in my life.
I love being a MOM!
And I love being Arienne's work MOM!

Dear Arienne,
Thanks for being a great example to me.
