I'm back!

I'm home.
And I'm happy this morning.
Which is a funny feeling to me,
I have spent a lot of time lately not being happy. It feels good. Really good.
I don't know what tomorrow will bring
so I will enjoy today.

My family and I had a fantastic time on our little vacation. We didn't hit any popular vacation spots, but we had a blast and loved our time together.

We traveled through Wyoming (which was beautiful) but we stayed in Idaho and Utah.
I love those states.

I will be spending some time editing and organizing my pictures and will blog about them just as soon as I have a few a lot of minutes.

Dear Vacation,
I had a blast. I love love love road trips with my family, there is nothing better!! I am also glad to be home...Mostly just so I can sleep in my bed a.k.a. pillow world.

I heart Denver.

Don't you just love this?
Blue sky, snow on the mountains.
And the hospital I work at.

I love working in the inner city.
I love all the diversity it offers.
I do not however love the drive.
And I would never want to live there.

Can you see downtown in the picture below?
That's how far away it is from my house.
It's far. Very far.

Dear Downtown Denver,
I do love you. I love looking at the all the freaks I see on the way to work. I love watching people out at night having fun. I am glad you are far away, I just wish I could get there faster.

So in the news this week.....

My religious beliefs have been under fire.
I currently have no strong feelings about the upcoming
Presidential race with regards to candidates.
What I have disliked very much is hearing on the news that
 I am not a Christian.
I do not know what definition of "Christian" these
good people use when they say I am not one.

But please know this...
I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior.
I believe that he atoned for me.
I try hard to follow him,
and to do the very best I can do.
I am not perfect,
in fact very far from it and that is why
I love and need Jesus Christ in my life.

I am never offended when people ask me questions about my religion and ask why I make some of the choices that I make.
I am deeply offended when I hear someone say that I am not Christian.
That is simply untrue.

To see some of what I am talking about go here.

Dear Reader,
I believe in Jesus Christ, I try to follow His example.
I am a Christian. I am also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Love,

FrIdAy NiGhT dAtE nIgHt!

Yep, that's right. Last night I went out on a hot date
with my hot man.
It was fun.
We went with my sister DaNa and her husband Jared and their daughter Sofie (Well Sofie only invaded the dinner portion of our date. I didn't mind. I like her.)
We couldn't decide on a place for dinner so we went here.
I love the queso.
And then we went to see

(Centers on the 2002 Oakland Athletics baseball team, who were led by general manager Billy Beane to an excellent season despite having the lowest payroll in the major leagues. In addition to scouting and more conventional methods of assembling a team, Beane introduced statistics and mathematical analysis into player evaluation, to the chagrin of many traditionalists.)
Anyway the Oakland A's are my husband first true love.
He has loved them since he was a little boy and growing up in Northern California he went to plenty of games.
It was so much fun to sit next to him during this movie.
I could see how excited he was.
I could see memories flashing away in his mind.
He was just buzzing with energy.
I thought it was cute.
Dear Oakland A's,
Thanks for keeping Mike's heart safe until I could get my hands on it. My husband loves you...A lot! And since he loves, I do also. Good Luck next year.
Love,

Except for one song.
There is one song that I always finish.
I don't know why for sure, it probably has something to do with a little girl in the mountains in a Jeep.
The one song is this song...
Gosh if you don't click pause on my piano music this won't sound good.

Dear Foreigner,
I love Juke Box Hero. I've loved it for a really long time. Thank you.

Happy October

It's a beautiful time of year.
I love Autumn.
My only problem with it is that is seems too short.
This year my heart is stretched out all across
this beautiful country.
I sitting here thinking about and
wishing that I could be in
Colorado and in Virginia and in Utah
all at the same time.
I wish I could go on long rides with my family and look at
the amazing fall colors.
I can only imagine the scenery my family is enjoying.

Colorado

Utah

Virginia

Dear Mike, Bryant, Dawson, Emilee, and Jarret,
I think ya'll might be in trouble. In my mind I am formulating some big plans for tomorrow.  I am feeling a bit like I wanna wake up, feel better, watch morning conference, then go for a long ride in the mountains. I want to take lots of pictures and listen to church hymns. I want to pack a picnic and listen to you laugh. I want to pretend Alyson is with us. I think I'll make it happen. Can't wait, see ya in the morning.
Love,
