Our Ward Christmas program

is today. One of my favorite Sundays.
I get to hear Mike and Alyson sing in
the ward choir.
Yay Mike and Alyson.
I so wish I could sing.
Well I *can* sing, I just can't sing well.
I actually sing the best
while I'm driving in the car.
Alone.

I'm sure I'll be completely entertained
by our Ward choir but the best choir ever
just happens to be,

Enjoy.
Dear Ward Choir,
I sure hope today goes perfectly for you all.
Remember that one time....
Love,
CoRi dAwN

My Neva.

I do so wish that everyone in the whole
wide world had a Neva like mine.
Neva is a good friend that I got to know through

Neva is an amazing lady who has lived a life full of adventures.
She's eclectic and funny.
She calls it like she sees it.
She makes me laugh. And I do love to laugh.
She recycles everything and lets nothing go to waste.
She has spirit and energy that I have not seen anywhere else.
She taught me how to hug.

Neva and CoRi dAwN

Dear Neva,
You have made an impact on my life for good. I was assigned to teach you and yet I always feel like I'm the one learning when I'm with you. I feel happy after I've spent time with you. Thanks for being my friend. I heart you.
Love,

Am I waiting for a "Golden Ticket"?

I think I may be.

Today my Visiting Teachers came and visited me.
I do so love them. They are good and beautiful
girls who make me feel loved.
I am thankful for them.

Today they came and we talked and laughed.
(we usually do)
Anyway they encouraged me to watch
President Uchtdorf's address he gave at the
Relief Society's general broadcast.
I did.
I loved it.

He talked about waiting for a
"Golden Ticket"
to be happy

and not just enjoying the chocolate that is there.
Readers, I need to enjoy my chocolate.
And quit waiting for my "Golden Ticket".

He talked about the small insignificant flower
Forget Me Not
And how at times we may feel forgotten.
He reassured that we are not.

Here he is telling us that we are not forgotten.
*please click pause on my music so you can hear his beautiful message*
To watch President Uchtdorf's full address
You will not be disappointed.

Speaking of President Uchtdorf.
You should know I love him.
He is a great speaker and he is filled with love.
And he's very handsome.

Dear Janor and Rochelle,
I adore you two. You are the best.
I feel happy when you are here and am
grateful to call you my friends.
Thanks for coming today, I needed you.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

Primary Program Sunday!!

Today is/was my FaVoRiTe Sunday
of the whole entire year.
Today was the Primary Program.
The kids were amazing.
Today I wish church was 4 hours instead of 3 and that I could listen to the kids for that whole extra hour. I love them.

And of course I spent a couple of hours with the new loves of my life.
*MY NURSERY KIDS*
Mike better watch out cause I am in LOVE!
I mean really in love.
11 boys and 1 sweet little girl.
I get to hold and feed and read to and snuggle with. They totally crack me up.

Like today one of them kept on saying,
"I have a penis, wanna see my penis?"
UMMM....NOPE! NO! I don't and don't show anyone else, thank you.

But really they are sweet and fun and I am lucky to get to spend time with them.

The other really great thing about being in the nursery is that I get to hang out with Sherri. And today we got an extra bonus and Staci came in with us.
It was once again the CoRi dAwN, Staci, and Sherri show.
It was fun.

Dear Sherri and Staci,
I love you. I miss spending time with you.
I'm glad we were all together again today. You guys were the best counselors anyone could ever want. What I miss the very most about being in Relief Society is you. I count you as some of my best friends.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

Sunday~ Stake Conference

Today was Stake Conference.
(Stake Conference is a conference or meeting where many
members from the same geological area of my church gather
together and listen to our local leaders)
It was really nice.

On my new phone (more about that later) I found a very cool video about William Tyndale and the scriptures and then I saw the same video on Alyson's blog. I think I was suppose to be reminded about how important being grateful for and studying the scriptures is.

I loved the message so much I think all y'all should watch it also.
*don't forget to click pause on my music*

It was wonderful and I felt happy to leave
Alyson
and watch her walk away with the
Lord's inspiration and instructions
in her hands.
I know that she and all of my kids will be happy if they
read and love the scriptures.

Dear William Tyndale,
I am grateful for your sacrifice.
I have no doubt that you were inspired and guided by the Lord.
A simple thank you is not strong enough.
So with as much fierceness and gratitude and love as I can type with I say to you,
THANKS!! I am blessed because of you
and others like you.
Much Love,
CoRi dAwN

Alyson, Chelsea, Flat Emilee, and I go to Music and the Spoken Word and Temple Square

I had never been to Music and the Spoken Word until
two Sundays ago.
I loved it.
Alyson, Chelsea, Flat Emilee, and I went instead of going to church.
It was nice.
We also spent some time wandering around
I HEART THAT PLACE!!

Me and my girls!

What we heard that beautiful morning was simply amazing.

~The music unbelievably beautiful~
~The words were these~

Life, in this world, can be hard on anyone. We hear and see things that are discouraging, even disheartening, and at times we may feel dismayed about the state of the world and the condition of our own lives. Yes, life can be hard.
But within us, deep down in our heart of hearts, resides a sense of robust hope and sweet expectation that can lift us out of life’s fog to see clearly who we are and our capacities. We lift the fog every time we count our blessings, every time we are kind toward others, every time we seriously ponder life’s purposes. We lift life’s fog as we pause to listen to our heart.

Each one of us is here for a reason, a purpose that may sometimes get lost in life’s heartaches and disappointments. Who are you really? Why are you here at this time and this place? What can you do to make a difference in someone’s life? How can you truly look into your heart?

"What you think of you is what finally matters,” wrote one observer. "When you look in the bathroom mirror in the morning, the court is open for business. And you are the jury and the judge on the case.”

Thinking of yourself as someone capable and worthy of good things sets positive change into motion. Quietly, your heart begins to change. You then begin to see and think and feel that your life can be good—despite life’s heartaches. Listen to that small voice in your heart that whispers to you the power to change, the potential for happiness, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that what you think of you matters.

Dear Temple Square,
I love the feeling I have when I walk around you.
I love to see the temple and all of the other beautiful buildings.
I really love your missionaries, they make me smile...and cry.
I feel peaceful when you are near.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

I love Sundays!

I HAVE BEEN RELEASED.
BIG SIGH.(of relief)
I have loved serving as the Relief Society President in the RB Ward. I have learned a lot and am grateful for such a special opportunity. The women that I served and served with are amazing.
SIMPLY AMAZING!
They have overcome a variety of trials and are superb examples of faith. They have lifted me and helped me all along the way.
I will be forever grateful to them.

Dear Sisters in the RB Ward,
It is my hope and prayer with we will always remember who we are:

We are beloved spirit daughters of God,
and our lives have meaning,
purpose, and direction.
As a worldwide sisterhood,
we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ,
our Savior and Exemplar.
We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity who:
Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study.
Seek spiritual strength by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Dedicate ourselves to strengthening marriages, families, and homes.
Find nobility in motherhood and joy in womanhood.
Delight in service and good works.
Love life and learning.
Stand for truth and righteousness.
Sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on earth.
Rejoice in the blessings of the temple, understand our divine destiny, and strive for exaltation.

I love all of you and thank you for letting me serve.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

I love Sundays!

EXCEPT....
Today I had to go to a meeting and I realized that I have PTSD!
Back story~
Several months ago I went a meeting and after an hour and a half I thought the meeting was coming to a close and then the doorbell rings and in walks a super boring man with HUGE packets of information. He then went BLAH BLAH BLAH explained the packets in great detail for another hour and half. I seriously HATED struggled through that meeting. I couldn't help it. I wanted to stand up and say,
"Hey,I have ADD! Can we end this! Please"

OK, so today I went to Ward Council and as I walked in I saw that same man with the same packets! My heart started racing and I started freaking out,
SERIOUSLY. FREAKING. OUT.
I thought I was going to die.
If I had the choice, I might just choose death over listening to him for hours again! Really it was truly that bad.

But I do love Sundays,
I love remembering what matters most and
I am often reminded on Sundays.

Dear Super Boring Long Winded Man,
I am sorry I hate listening to you, I can't help it, I have ADD.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

I love Sundays!

I love Sundays when one of my children talks in church!
Alyson had the opportunity to talk in front of the congregation
today about her four years of early morning seminary.
She made me proud. She looked great and she held herself together
and didn't say umm a bunch of times.

This is an old picture and not at all what she looked liked today but it is a picture of her "preaching". I'm sure she's telling everyone to go home and think about all the nice things people do for them ;)

Also in RS we had a fabulous lesson on Quentin L. Cook's talk titled,

Our women are not incredible because they have managed to avoid the difficulties of life—quite the opposite. They are incredible because of the way they face the trials of life. Despite the challenges and tests life has to offer—from marriage or lack of marriage, children’s choices, poor health, lack of opportunities, and many other problems—they remain remarkably strong and immovable and true to the faith. Our sisters throughout the Church consistently “succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees.”

Dear Alyson,
Thanks for being such a great
example! I am super proud of
you for working hard and attending
all four years of seminary. You
are incredible!
Love,
CoRi dAwN

I love Sundays!

I love Sundays and I need them! What a great day today was. President Maynes of the Denver South Mission joined our Ward Council and he was amazing. He was a kind gentle man who spoke with tenderness and encouragement. I have always felt a bit of anxiety when thinking about sending one of kids off for two years but after today I feel excited to have my children in the care of someone like President Maynes, I'm sure they will grow and learn.

I also love Relief Society! What an amazing group of women live in the RB Ward. I am renewed and strengthen when I am with them.

Latter-day Saint women must be strong and immovable in relief. We are a Relief Society, and we should be the best women in the world at providing relief. This has been our special province from the beginning. The word relief means “to lift up, lighten.” It means “a raising [up].” “The notion is ‘to raise (someone) out of trouble.’” Our service and the relief that we offer are a sign that we are the Lord’s disciples and we are members of His true restored Church. It is a privilege to be part of this worldwide organization for women, whose name describes what we are meant to do: provide relief.
~Julie B. Beck

Dear Relief Society of RB,
Thank you for "relieving me".
It has and is a privilege to
serve you and to serve with
you. I am continually amazed
by your love and service to
me and others.
Love,
CoRi dAwN

As Sisters in Zion
1.As sisters in Zion, we’ll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labors we’ll seek.
We’ll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We’ll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.

2.The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity’s name.

3.How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit’s divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.
